南インドの出版社タラブックスの活動を紹介する展覧会の会場デザイン。
「ゴンド芸術と『夜の木』」と「民俗画家との本づくり」２つの展示室をつなぐように、タラブックスの記念碑的な10冊の絵本と創立者たちの言葉を展示する展示ケース15個を１列に配置し、空間をシンプルに構成。展示ケースはシルクスクリーンの刷り損じの紙で仕上げ、タラブックスが大切にしているハンドクラフトや手作業をダイレクトに伝える触感を展示空間に持ち込んだ。
Exhibition design for ‘ Beautiful Books change the world: The Universe of Tara Books, India’ at Itabashi Art Museum in Tokyo. A line with 15 show cases of ‘Milestone books’ and quotes from Tara Books founders connects two exhibition rooms of ‘ The Gond Art and The Night Life of Trees’ and ‘ Indigenous Artists’. The surface of show cases is finished with fluke papers which has layers of mistake silk screen print at Tara Books workshop to bring tactility to the exhibition which represents handcarft and materials and techniques.
