東京・神田にあるオーガニックレストラン Blind Donkeyのための日本地図を制作。 シェフのジェロームさんの「レストランは劇場であり、その舞台の背景として能舞台の鏡絵のような日本地図を作りたい。」という考え方がスタート。能舞台の鏡絵と同じ、ヒノキ材の上に、鏡絵の松と同じ、松葉緑青と膠という岩絵の具の画法で地図を描いた。この地図には、Blind Donkeyが食材を買っている日本全国の生産者がプロットされる予定。 「レストランはオーガニックの生産者のショーケース」と話すジェロームさんがどんな風にこの地図を育てていくかとても楽しみです。
Drawing ‘Japan Green Map’ for Blind Donkey, organic restaurant in Kanda, Tokyo. It started from Jerome, chef’s idea that the restaurant is a theater and this map will be functioned like ‘kagamie’, a background painting for No-theater, Japanese traditional theater. Material and painting method follows ‘kagamie’: base is Hinoki board and map was drawn with malachite and nikawa (gelatin, traditional medium for Japanese painting). Later organic producers will be plotted on the map to support his idea ‘A restaurant is a showcase for organic producers.’
